The Batwa People in Uganda

Friends of The Batwa Mission:

To promote economic development of the Batwa People by supporting, funding and establishing programs and projects through a network of initiatives that aims at holistic transformation and self-sufficiency of the current and future generations to come.

Cornerstone Prepatory School in Kamugyemanyi-Kasovu, Uganda. Serving the Batwa children from 2 years to 9 years of age. 83 children and growing. Time to add the next classrooms to add grades. Teachers work very hard with the first time Batwa students from Village K in Uganda. Funds and prayers are needed for this program.

The Batwa literacy rate is just 12 percent compared to over 75 percent (2012) of non-Batwa in the same area. Education among the Batwa population has been and remains elusive. With education, the Batwa people will have a sense of equality and agility in regard to development.

The Batwa children in Uganda eagerly await their meal times during school hours. It is a precious time for them as a delicious breakfast and lunch are served. These meals are not taken for granted, as the children understand the value of having food on their plates. It is a humbling experience to witness how grateful they are for every meal provided. In a world where food scarcity is prevalent, it is heartwarming to see the children relish their meals.

Sponsor a Batwa child for $45/ monthly this give them education, food, paper and pencils. Teachers wages are needed as well. Many of these children are from single mothers very vulnerable people. You can sponsor on our donation page here on our secure website or go to the Friends Of The Batwa Site

Rachel is Gloria’s sponsored child. Many more children in need are available to sponsor in Uganda.

Independence is Doc’s sponsored Godchild. Many more children are still waiting to be sponsored.

Independence is Bob’s sponsored Godchild. Sponsorship is for education expenses. Education means so much to these children.

In Uganda, it is a common practice to cook the starchy root vegetable known as cassava and serve it alongside a protein-rich bean dish. Cassava is known for its versatility in cuisine and is enjoyed across many cultures and regions worldwide.

Our Partner Richard is working hard to help the people of the Batwa. Please donate to help with accomplishing his hearts mission. You can specify that you want your donation to go directly to The Batwa people on our secure giving page by clicking on the button below.
