Our Mission
Heart 2 Heart Hand N Hand International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Batwa children living in extreme poverty in Rushaga Village, Uganda. Many of these children face daily challenges such as hunger, lack of education, and limited access to basic medical care.
Through the Heart 2 Heart School and community programs in Rushaga Village, we work alongside local leaders and families to provide food, education, medical care, and essential resources that give children the opportunity to grow, learn, and build a brighter future.
Every act of generosity helps bring hope to children who need it most. All donations directly support the Batwa children and families in Rushaga Village, Uganda, helping create sustainable change for their community and the generations that follow.
Where We Help
H2H supports the children and families in Rushaga Village, Uganda, where many Batwa children face extreme poverty and limited access to education, healthcare, and daily necessities. Many families struggle to provide even the most basic needs, making support from compassionate partners around the world incredibly important.
Through our work in Uganda, Heart 2 Heart partners with local leaders and community members to support the Heart 2 Heart Child Development Center and provide essential resources that help children grow, learn, and build a better future. Together we are working to strengthen the community and bring hope to children who deserve the opportunity to thrive.

Supporting Batwa Children
The Batwa people are among the oldest tribes in Africa and also the most vulnerable communities in Uganda, and many Batwa children grow up facing extreme poverty with limited access to education, proper nutrition, and healthcare. Without support, these children often struggle to find opportunities that can change the course of their lives.
In Rushaga Village, Uganda, Heart 2 Heart works alongside local leaders and families to bring hope and opportunity to these children. Through the Heart 2 Heart Child Development Center and community programs, we provide education and essential resources that help children learn, grow, and build a stronger future for themselves and their community. Parents are supporting and helping with food, uniforms and scholastic materials but much more it still needed.
With compassion, partnership, and support from people who care, we are helping create a future filled with hope, dignity, and opportunity for Batwa children and their families.
Greatest Needs
Education & Opportunity
Access to education gives Batwa children in Rushaga Village the opportunity to grow, learn, and build a better future. Through the Heart 2 Heart School, children receive learning support, school supplies, and a safe place to develop the skills they need for life. Support also helps provide basic medical care and medicines when needed, helping children stay healthy so they can continue learning and thriving in their community.
Food & Sustainability
Providing reliable food sources is an important step toward improving the well-being of children in Rushaga Village. Support from Heart 2 Heart helps provide nourishing food for Batwa children while also supporting community farming efforts. By raising animals and growing vegetables, the village can develop sustainable food sources that strengthen health and create greater long-term food security for all future generations.
Health & Well-Being
Access to basic healthcare is essential for children to grow and thrive. Many Batwa families have limited access to medical care, hygiene supplies, and basic health resources. Through the Heart 2 Heart School and community support programs, children and families gain support that helps improve health and prevent illness. We support a full time nurse at the school. With your donations we can provide care and hope for Batwa children.

Education opens doors to opportunity and a brighter future. Through the support of Heart 2 Heart, Batwa children are able to attend school, receive learning materials, and grow in a safe environment where they can develop skills, confidence, and hope for what lies ahead.

Nourishing food helps children stay healthy and gives them the energy they need to learn and grow. While some meals are provided by parents, support from donors helps provide regular meals while also encouraging sustainable food sources through farming projects that include growing vegetables and raising animals.

Access to basic healthcare can make a life-changing difference for children. Support helps provide essential medical care, hygiene supplies, and medicines when they are needed, helping children stay healthy and reducing the risks of preventable illness. We support a nurse for the Heart 2 Heart Community School.

Through the support of compassionate people around the world, Batwa children are gaining confidence, discovering their potential, and beginning to imagine brighter futures for themselves and their community.
